A lone piano stands in an empty church. Perhaps, once, it was loved, you think as you walk up to it, noticing the dust that cakes the keys. Really, it is a simple instrument, but it is one that you have always held a deep fondness for. A small smile forms on your lips as you rub off the keys, eyes watering at the amount of grime in the air. You settle yourself down on the worn piano bench, which lets out a soft groan as you settle onto it. And then you press the keys. The sound wobbles in the air, slightly distorted by wear and time. Hello there. I should journal more often. Although I have nothing important to journal about. Since I have almost no life. Seriously. Well, yesterday was freezing. It's the middle of freaking October and it was a freaking 22 degrees. That's New England for you; warm one day, below freezing the next. The worst part? I had to play in the Pep Band float. With no gloves. On a freezing metal chair. I swear my fingers almost froze. Then my mom got an iPad, and I learned that I'm FINALLY going to get a goshdarned phone. Within the next two months. FINALLY A PHONE. Yeah. I don't know why you care. Oh, yeah, I'm thinking of doing commissions.
